Happy 4th

We spent today hiking. The kids were great sports, and we had Grandma White along to help with crowd control.
Many years ago (like 15?) Brandon's family went on this hike for Memorial Day, and it was fun, but the first 1/2 mile was sand, like straight up the mountain. It is called Adams Canyon in Kaysville. It has an awesome waterfall at the top, but we all remember the painful beginning, and we have not been back. (then 1995) (now)
We decided to try it today, with 4 kids (duh?). But, they have fixed it. They have come in and made switch-backs with reinforced wood to help erosion, and some fencing to help lead up the new path. So, not a bad start like we remember.

It was so fun. We had to stop and look at every bug and tree and flower and dog and horse poop, so a 2 hour round trip turned into a 3 1/2 hour (not even making it to the top) round trip.
But, no major falls or blood. No bites. Typical whining! We had so much fun. We are going to try to go to Timpanogos later this year...so we are warming up for it!!!
