Little Girls

I love having a girl! Liv always wants her hair "curly". I try to do something with her hair each day, but of course some days are fancier than others.
So, we decided to sluff church, stay in jammies and play games all day. But, I went in to pull my hair up, and Liv came in to have her hair done. We did a loose pony with the little side and back strands curled into ringlets-sort of-. She then had to have my lipstick (just colored lip gloss). So, she walked around sitting all prim and proper, and knowing she looked beautiful. She is so much fun.
Having to curl her hair and put on makeup to play Monopoly??? PRICELESS!
Only with little girls!

Thomas' Accomplishment

Thomas received the "Most Accomplished Readers Award" this last week. He has been going to a reading group with some other 1st graders, and it has improved his ability and confidence in reading. However, he improved the most.

He explains it like this "All the kids ended at the same place (his hand held up to a certain height), but I started the lowest of any of the others (hand held low), so I learned the most, because I had to go farther than the others. He is so fun to watch!

He was given a great certificate, and had his picture taken with his reading teacher and the Assistant Principle. Then tonight, he and I went to the District offices in Farmington, and they had cookies and punch. Best of all, was that Thomas was given $20.00 worth of free books! Wow, it took some time choosing.

I am just so proud of him, and how much he has learned this year. Way to go Tom!!!!!
